THE LAW OF WAITING
Psalm 27:1-14
To wait is to stay in one place or delay action until a particular time or event. If you have experienced a waiting period at one point or the other, you will agree with me that it is never a pleasant thing to wait but rather it is an enduring period that is often not enjoyed. Think about it, how many drivers do you see jump the red traffic light on daily basis. The few minutes they needed to wait is always too much for them to handle. A lot of drivers have paid dearly for jumping traffic lights.
One of the hardest things to do in life is waiting. But it is something that the Lord allows on our way to make us better. God’s waiting room is the most important place we encounter transformation in our lives. This is where God tests our commitment, grows our faith and transforms our lives for the better. It is a room for preparation for the next level. When we wait on the Lord, we learn to trust and rely on God’s promises to see us through. In the waiting room, God requires us to put aside our way of doing things and trust His timing, plan and follow the directives that he gives.
Life is governed by principles and one of the principles is PROCESS which synonymously means THE WAITING PROCESS. Things have to move from point A to point B through the stages it needed to go through up until the final destination. Every great manifestation undergoes a period of wait. Despite being fully God, Jesus had to wait till he became a fully grown earthly man before he started his ministry. He understood that to be accepted in that society, he must be presented as a man. Likewise there is a lot that time will reveal about your vision. It can’t be done another way, the waiting period can’t be skipped. Waiting builds your character and stamina; it is a period of preparation. The capacity to carry the vision is developed during the waiting time.
Largely, how we emerge from God’s waiting room is dependent on our attitude. While waiting, stay close to God. He is in charge of the situation. Remember, he promised never to leave nor forsake you. Pray and believe his promises are yeah and amen. Just like the consequences that come with jumping the red light, resisting God’s timing and trying to get ahead of the Lord can have serious consequences. Whether we like to believe it or not, waiting is a vital part of God’s plan and purpose for our lives. Allow him to work through your waiting period to evolve a better you. When your waiting gives room for God to act, then your waiting is purposeful and it will yield great result.
MEDITATION: Time is one of the major ingredients of a great destiny. Please note that waiters will eventually mount up with wings as eagle and soar.
