THE LAW OF NAVIGATION 2
Proverbs 3: 5-7
We started looking at this beautiful law in our previous reading. The text for today is very germane in the law of navigation. “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil”. From the navigation directives provided in this scripture, what you need do are very simple: ‘Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding”; “In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths” and “Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.” You must have absolute trust in God. Trust his leading. Even when you do not understand the path he is taking you through, rely on him absolutely. Be confident that it will lead you to your destination. Once it is God, then it is sure. He is the navigation system that can never lead you astray and all that he requires from you is to follow in faith, believing absolutely.
Life is in stages. Success in life is a journey through the stages of life. Every stage has it’s peculiar Requirements. An understanding of every requirement of each stage cannot be overemphasized. Consider traveling on the highway from city A to city B .The road isn’t straight and smooth. There will be bends, curves, hills and slopes. An expert driver knows not to go into a curve at full speed; he knows that more power is required to move uphill. There are times to apply the brakes; there are times to steer away from obstacles and take the correct direction.
So also in life’s journey, there are times when we need full energy just to overcome inertial, there are times that you need to steer away from certain things in other to forge ahead. Most importantly, there are times when you have to totally steer the course of your life to certain direction because no matter how fast you are going in the wrong direction, you will only arrive at the wrong place faster. Direction is of utmost importance. Direction dictates the route you’ll follow, also it dictates the plan and your approach towards the journey.
MEDITATION: Follow God’s direction, you will not miss your way. You will arrive at your destination whole and in good time.
