THE IMMUTABLE LAWS OF BREAKING FORTH

Genesis 1:28-30

And God blessed them and God said unto them ‘Be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and the foul of the air and over  every living thing that moveth upon the earth’

In Genesis 1: 28 God proclaimed the dominion blessing on man. This is a break forth blessing and is probably responsible for man’s quest for dominion. Everywhere man finds himself on the planet earth, he always strives to dominate and break forth on every side. This Spirit relentlessly propels him to explore and extend his influence far beyond the earth into the universe. He flies lightning speed vehicles that can take him to the moon, and other planets. He fights wars to expand his territory. He even invents equipments and contraptions that will aid him in exploration and further conquest of his environment.

Breaking forth however implies more than a mere conquest, and extension of man’s territory. It implies blossoming in the relationship God has purposed for man which he lost at the fall.

To the woman He said: “I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception; In pain you shall bring forth children;Your desire shall be [a]for your husband, And he shall rule over you.” Then to Adam He said, “Because you have heeded the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat of it’: Cursed is the ground for your sake; In toil you shall eat of it. All the days of your life. Both thorns and thistles it shall [b]bring forth for you, And you shall eat the herb of the field. In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread till you return to the ground, For out of it you were taken; For dust you are, And to dust you shall return.” Gen 3:16-24

It encompasses both the spiritual and material life of man in the garden (Universe) God has placed him.  If man will truly conquer, dominate and break forth, he has to observe some divine laws and fulfil some divine conditions. He has to possess and exercise faith towards God, the entire author of the whole universe. He must also regularly commune with him in the place of prayer.

Lastly he must cultivate and maintain an ongoing relationship with him and with his other creatures. These conditions are immutable. They are immutable in the sense that they hold true and will always lead to a breaking forth if man takes the pains to fulfil them. In the pages that follow the immutable conditions of faith, communion and relationship will be discussed.

PRAYER: Lord, help me to recognize that only in you can I truly break forth.
