SO IS HE
James 1:14-15
Your life is defined by what is in your mind. Your thoughts control your life. Every single action always begins as a thought. If you don’t think it, you won’t do it. If it’s a good thought you’re going to do good. If it’s a bad thought you’re going to do bad. Consequently, you are expected to be careful of what thoughts you allow to occupy your mind because that is what you will eventually become. The following applications are true in practical life:
1. Think about yourself, you become a selfish person, 2 Tim. 3:1-2.
2. Think about others, you become a caring, giving person, Rom. 12:10-13; Eph. 4:32.
3. Think about money, you become a greedy person, 1 Tim. 6:9-10.
4. Think about thankfulness to God, you become a contented person, 1 Tim. 6:6-8.
5. Think about immoral sex, you become a lustful person, Matt. 5:28.
6. Think about moral purity, you become pure in heart, 1 Cor. 6:18 (Matt. 5:8).
7. Think about deception, become a liar, Col. 3:9-10
8. Think about truthfulness.become an honest person, Eph. 4:25.
9. Think about being praised by men for religious life, you become a hypocrite, Matt. 6:5; 23:12.
10. Think about the praise of God, you become a humble and genuine servant of God, 1 Pet. 2:1-3.
