STOP MURMURING

PHILIPPIANS 2:14, 1 CORINTHIANS 10:10

Murmuring is expression of dissatisfaction in a low muttering voice. It is whispering a complaint or protest.  God despises murmuring. The children of Israel murmured at numerous occasions during their journey to the Promised Land. They were quick to forget all that God did for them and murmured at every slight inconvenience. It was as if it was not this same God that delivered them from slavery and provide food and water in the wilderness. And of course, the Lord punished them for it in some cases.

Whenever we are faced with challenges, we should tell God our grievances in prayers instead of complaining. God knows your struggles; even before you pray, he knows where it itches you. So with this revelation we should always look up to God, cry unto him, call upon him, be intentional about it. Don’t complain, don’t murmur, talk to him, he is our father, our ever-present help in times of trouble.

Don’t be quick to forget all he has done for you. Murmuring is like giving God the impression that he has not been good to you and that he has forsaken you. It displeases him. So don’t do that. Instead, thank him for what he has done in your life. Let God know that you appreciate him; that you acknowledge him; that you trust him to always help you; and that you appreciate the fact that he has indeed been good to you. When you do this, God will definitely hear your cries and make a way for you. It is better to pray than to murmur. God hears and answers prayers. Murmuring annoys him. So stop murmuring.

PRAYER: Lord, for every time that I have murmured, please forgive me.
