PREPARE FOR WAR.
Ephanians 6:10-20
It has often been said that the surest way to live in peace is to prepare for war. Have you asked yourself why nations keep armies, equip and train them even in times of peace? The answer is simple; nations must be strong enough to be able to fight their enemies in order to archive their peace. No nation waits till the enemy declares war on them before assembling an army, training and equipping and mobilizing to the war front. Any nation that does that will be sure meat for its enemies!
In the same vein, you must live your life in readiness for warfare in the spirit and in the physical. Christianity is war, it is not play. Your being born again was accomplished with violence – the most precious blood on earth was shed to purchase you. You did not just become a child of God; you were violently snatched from the jaw of the devil.
Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear son: in whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:12-14
Your salvation was no child’s play. It was a mighty deliverance “from the power of darkness” and a great translation “unto the kingdom of (God’s) dear son. The enemy was not happy to lose you. And he will do anything to have you back in his kingdom of darkness. That is why he would fight and will continue to fight you till the day you go to meet with the Lord. That is why Apostle Peter charges you to “be sober, be vigilant because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour” (1Peter 5:8)
The devil will fight you on all fronts. You must resist him. Be armed with the word of God; live in righteousness, be strong in faith; be fervent in the spirit and live in sound relationship with God your father. Let your prayer life be a delight to heaven and a scare to the hosts of hell. As the adage goes, flies hover around cold fire place but not where the fire is hot. Let your prayer altar never be without fire. Victory is yours in Jesus Name.
