REMEMBER YOU ARE BUT FLESH
Psalm 78:34-38
One thing you must constantly put in remembrance is the fact that you are still living in the flesh. It is true that you are a spirit. Yet, you are still living in your earthly body. Without your flesh, you have no right to operate on the planet earth. You must note that it is only your spirit that is born again, not your flesh. Until you go to be with the Lord, your flesh will continue to war against your spirit. It is a constant and daily battle. This is one of the things you must put in mind. The flesh will always war against the spirit. It is your responsibility to put the flesh in subjection. If you do, you will live in victory over temptations and sin.
Furthermore, you must note that you need your flesh to carry your spirit on planet earth. By your flesh, we refer to your body. If your body is frail, no matter how sound your spirit is, you will not be able to operate as you should. And if the body gives up, the spirit will go back to its maker. In that case, you must take good care of your body to enable it support your spirit fulfill its mission on earth. Eat well. Dress well. Exercise as you should. Keep the body in good shape to enable your engine (spirit) to function normally. Take time to rest. Don’t bottle up your problems. Stop going about as if you are the one that died for the world. Stop carrying unnecessary burden. Loosen up and live. Stress less.
Finally, the fact that you are still in the flesh should tell you that you are not an angel. You are not perfect. You can make mistakes. If and when you do, repent; forsake and ask God for forgiveness. Even God knows we are but flesh. He forgives. But this is not a license for living in unrighteousness as this will eventually make you incur the wrath of God. Thereafter, forgive yourself and move on with life.
Stop living in the past. You have a future to live in. Move there and enjoy yourself. This life is meant to be enjoyed. Heaven is real and good. Yes. But God gave us this life not to suffer therein but to blossom and reign here. Do something tangible with your life while still in the flesh. Live with the consciousness of heaven and be earthly relevant.
PRAYER: I shall reign on earth as well as in heaven in Jesus name.
