AVOID RELATIONSHIP FAILURE
1 Thessalonians 5:16-23
There was this funny, but instructive story of a man and his wife who were not in talking terms with each other. Every time the man wanted to talk to his wife, he would write a note, and the wife would also reply him in written notes. For instance, if he wanted to eat, he would write a note to his wife, “Where is my food?” And the wife would reply through a written note, “Your food is already on the table.” That was how they kept living their lives.
And so, one day the man wanted to travel and wrote a note to his wife, “Wake me up by 7:00 am. I have a flight to catch.” When it was 7:00 am, the wife wrote a note, “Wake up; it is 7am.” She dropped the note, the flight time came and passed, yet the man was still asleep. Of course he overslept because the note could not talk. When he woke up, having already missed his flight, he was furious, but helpless, because he knew he was not talking to his wife. Imagine that! He missed that flight and whatever opportunity that came with it because of communication breakdown in his relationship with his wife.
Every time relationship failure happens, communication breaks down. So, prayerlessness is a proof of relationship failure. Every time a person is no more praying as he should, his relationship with God is failing, and failure of relationship with God can lead to hardship in life and damnation in eternity.
In prayer, we actually communicate with God. Beloved, how is your communication channel with God? How strong is your relationship with Him? How frequently do you talk to or communicate with Him? Is prayer a constant feature in your life? Do not allow the relationship between you and God to breakdown due to lack of communication. Make up your mind to maintain a buoyant prayer life. Conquer spiritual laziness and maintain the discipline of a vibrant prayer life.
PRAYER: Lord, I receive the grace to conquer spiritual laziness and laxity. Help me to maintain a buoyant prayer life in Jesus name.
