CASTING ALL YOUR CARES UPON HIM
1 Peter 5:1-10
Cares are concerns which serve as heavy weights on our minds. They vary from one person to the other. One thing that we need to realise is that God knows our concerns more than we do. He sees the origin and the end of every problem. When cares come as heavy weights on us, we are commanded in Scriptures to cast those cares at the feet of the Lord. “Casting all your care upon him; for He careth for you.” 1 Pet. 5:7
Casting your cares before the Lord simply means praying to God about those pressing issues, and avoid worrying about what would happen next. God who made yesterday, makes today and tomorrow. And being His children, He has good things for us.
One of the intricacies of the human mind is such that the mind swings into different directions especially during challenges and where there is limited light of God’s word in the heart. We have to learn to deliberately reject negative thoughts with the sword of God’s word.
God is always a God of wonders, and works the way no man can predict. We are to trust in Him by casting all our cares at His feet. He will certainly intervene when He sees we have abandoned all unto Him. He has done it before, He will do it again. There is no impossibility with God. So long as God has given you good health and you are still alive, He will fulfil that which concerns you. Never mind the temporary challenges around you. It shall soon come to pass.
