COMMENDATION AND ENCOURAGEMENT… FOSTER UNITY AND GOOD WORKS

3 John.1:12

Life is governed by the law of sowing and reaping, rewards and accolades. Everyone who truly wants a better tomorrow tries to be up and doing. Doing well requires commendation. As Christians, the scripture encourages us to do good especially to those in the household of faith. Those who do well too should be commended as seen in the text of today. Commendation for beloved saints has a way of encouraging and increasing enthusiasm to do more for the sake of the gospel.

Dorcas (a woman who spends her life making clothes for the poor) as seen in book of Acts chapter 9 received the commendation of the people whom her life touched when she died. Is your life touching someone and it seems no one is fast recognizing the same as at date? Keep it up and watch out as God will bring the blessing attached to same over time. You cannot cast your bread upon the waters and not find it after many days.

The world is getting more selfish and caring more for themselves by the day. Believers are faced with the same temptation of being selfish. But we should rather go with what the scripture says than what men say. Go with the word than the world.

Do you know you can be of great encouragement to faithful workers within the church who may need some advice and financial assistance in critical areas of their lives? You can give people scholarships to ease their schooling at a season like this. You can equally encourage the work of the ministry in your branch by giving your best or offering of professional services to support the less privileged, welfare of members, outreaches, young adults grooming and such like. You may even take time out to pray for others.

Do we still have people like Dorcas in the church who will do anything to put smiles on other’s faces in the midst of live challenging situations? You can save a falling marriage with just an advice. You can offer relevant guide to those in your field of career or business in your local church.

Make up your mind to make and not mar someone’s progress in life and destiny. Be an example of a believer who is committed to care giving and encouraging other saints to be their best for God. You cannot miss the reward of the same. Some have left the level of just giving 10% as tithes and offering to almost 70% and some are already doing 90%. The amazing thing is they get richer by the day.

MEDITATION: I am a solution to the world around me. If I’m here, Christ should be seen at work.
