CONFIDENCE IN PRAYERS (TRUSTING GOD’S FAITHFULNESS)

1 John.3:22, 5:14 -15

Man was not made to be independent of his Maker. God made us to depend on Him for sustenance. He didn’t make a world in which He will not be needed. The manufacturer in His absence would always leave a manual in his/her invention for ease of use and guide on operation of the product. We have this great privilege not only to access life’s manual called the “Bible” but also to speak with the manufacturer/our maker [God] directly.

Today’s scripture clearly states that, we can develop confidence in trusting Him to hear us when we pray to Him according to His will for us. It is sheer ignorance to want to operate in this evil world without the guidance of the maker. It is not in a man to direct his ways. The book of Proverbs chapter 3:5-6 implores us to trust in the Lord with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding, in all our ways to acknowledge Him and He will direct our paths.

God wants us to be reasonable in all we do…yet He still expects us to ask for His guidance as we live our normal/professional lives. God’s word might seem unreasonable but it has been tested and proved from ages past to last forever. [Psalm 119:89] It has been confirmed to be settled in heaven and earth.

How do you trust God? By building a cordial relationship with Him. This ultimately means communication with God in the place of reading His word, prayers and fasting and getting the Holy Spirit’s guidance in all areas of your life are keys not to be trivialized. How do we prove we love the Father if we don’t spend quality time with Him? Are you going to give more attention to life than God or vise-versa? Be a 6’ O Clock Christian who’s both useful to heaven and earth at the same time.

Trust for God is fast being eroded by vain philosophies of man. The need to be a practical Christian who sets his/her standard by God’s word is most needed at a season like this. The community, marital and emotional issues we are being faced with today all emanated from lack of trust for God and His word.

Make up your mind to stand for love and trust in God. Let your decisions about life and destiny hinge on trusting in God’s faithfulness.

PRAYER: Oh Lord, let my heart yearn after your word. Let my actions be in alignment with your will for me. I shall have good success.
