DO NOT IMITATE EVIL … AVOID CONTENTIOUS BEHAVIOUR
3 John.1: 9 – 11
We are children of God. God does not do evil. We are obliged to follow peace with all men and be holy without which we cannot see God. However, we need to be conscious of the fact that, the devil knows this and would do anything to make the church not stand united. Jesus said in the book of Matthew 16:18 that, “I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” People of the world and brethren among us will step on our toes. We will wrong each other but we should put on the nature of Christ to respond positively at all times.
Don’t walk away from loving God and His people just because someone you hold so dear stepped on your toes. We are to esteem each other in humility and love of God. We are to stand in maturity.
Doing evil sometimes can be hidden in tearing down and castigating wrongly other believers. The generation that curse their fathers and mothers is here but you can’t be part of them. The life of God in us should override the lust of the flesh, lust of the eye and pride of life.
We can only outgrow the works of the flesh by emulating and praying into our lives the effect of the fruit of the spirit as seen in the book of Galatians chapter 5.
Any root of contention should be far from you as a beloved saint. Support the work of the ministry, love others even when it’s difficult to do so. Aspire to grow in grace for the race. Seek to build and not tear down. Seek not your own at all times…consider the nature of Christ for love, unity and family feeling. This is embedded in our fabric in this ministry and end time syndromes will not water it down.
MEDITATION: I’m a builder of love and good character. I’m going to be an example of a believer for others to follow.
