JUST DO IT
John 2:1-11
Today we are again looking at the power in the Word. The Word of God can meet any need in your life. It can fill any void; supply any need and avert imminent shame. Mary, the mother of Jesus knew the secret. If you want your miracle, whatever says to you, do! John 2:5
Look at the scenario again. There was a wedding feast and the wine had been exhausted. At that point, you don’t need a prophet but a financier or a supplier of wine. Jesus was neither. But the mother came to him. Where do you go when there is a challenge? Do you panic? Who do you discuss your situation with? Do they have the solutions? It is important that you come to God first. Let Him give you direction.
But be warned. What He says may not be what you expect. It may look foolish and pedestrian. Ordinarily at such a feast, what one should expect from someone who wants to help is money to purchase more wine. But Jesus said “fill the pots with water”. Then without any dramatics, take it to the master of the banquet” What happened between the “drawing of the water and when it got to the Governor of the Feast is beyond explanation.
Thank God the servants heeded the advice of Mary. Just do what He says! His words may defy logic. Do it. It may run counter to your training. Still do it. It may sound foolish or off the course of the matter at hand. Just do it. Even Jesus “did” the word before he could get results. Acts 1:1 tells us of the things, “Jesus began to Do and to preach”. He did before he preached. As the words come to you for the season, don’t just write them down or memorize or confess go a step further: do it.
