LIFE IS A SACRIFICE

Luke 10: 30-37

Life is only sweet when it is shared. That is why Jesus Christ Himself encouraged good neighbourliness as expounded in the story of The Good Samaritan (Luke 10: 30-37). Also, inNehemiah 2:1-8, the prophet gave up his personal comfort in the Palace in Shusan, to mobilise for the rebuilding of the walls of Jerusalem, thereby bringing joy and comfort to the nation of Israel.

God’s expectation of us, concerning our substances and privileges, is to be ready to share with others around us. How many people go to bed thanking God for your life?  As much as it lies within your power, offering help to other people around you is a duty you must fulfil as a Christian. This, Christian parents must do and teach their children to do likewise.

The present economic challenges may not really make sacrificing for others attractive, but Christians must learn to live above board. That’s what sets us apart from the world just as it’s an effective way to spread the gospel.

There is a joy that only comes with obedience which this type of sacrifice gives to people.  The reward is also sure to come from the Lord (Revelations 22:12).  You are alive with several opportunities and privileges because of someone who must not go to bed hungry or walk the streets in tattered or unkempt clothing. Living a life of sacrifice is a secret to heavenly joy and blessing.  Every sacrifice invokes a blessing, may you not lose your reward.

Memory Verse: Luke 10:27‘And he answered, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbour as yourself.’

PRAYER : Oh Lord, I receive the grace to live a selfless life, giving hope to many in Jesus name.
