LOVE AND HOSPITALITY … [SHOWING KINDNESS TO FELLOW BELIEVERS]
2 John.1:5-6
True Christian love is borne out of a rich relationship with God. This can be extended to others especially to those of the household of faith. It is fast becoming a reality that, the temptation to give more time to pleasures of this world than spending quality time with God is on the increase every day. Yes, it’s true that the scriptures say, at the end of time, men shall be lovers of their own self [2 Timothy 3:2]. It presupposes that men would be selfish and be more flesh/self-focused than God-focused. The evil in the world is on the increase every day, hence to do well/good to others/strangers is becoming more challenging as the days go by. This does not however, invalidate the commandment of God for man. All the 10 commandments were summarized by Jesus as: Love for God and Love for our neighbors.
The scriptural text of today further buttress the need to love one another and walk in obedience to God’s command. To be kind to others is a command from God and not an option. To be hospitable to others is the hallmark of Christ’s love in us.
It is expedient to say, when love relationship with God is deep and growing, righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost will naturally be the order of the day in our lives as believers. All the basis of love in the world of today has been proved to fail at one point or the other. Only the love of God has stood the test of time. Whatever you do as a believer that is not born out of love for God and humanity cannot last.
Being our brother’s keeper would further strengthen Unity in the body of Christ. Don’t keep your challenges to yourself. Share with someone carrying an in-depth experience of the presence of God…and you will find victory overshadowing your path always.
Love comes with sacrifice! Are you willing to make a sacrifice to be a blessing to someone within and outside the church? Your prosperity shall burst forth like the Sunlight. Make up your mind to continue to serve God in the best way.
PRAYER:
I shall not be weary of well doing. God will make a way for my growth…therefore, it shall last.
