NEW YEAR, NEW YOU III

1 Peter 2: 1-12

In our last study, we established the fact that every new believer is a baby that needs to grow. We noted that the first major nutrition for growth is the Word of God. Now let’s continue the study. The second thing you need for growth is your confession. Yes, your confession plays an important role in your growth.  You must say to yourself constantly, “I am new“! Paul stated that:

I am crucified with Christ; nevertheless I live; yet, not I but Christ liveth in me; and the life that I live in the flesh I live by the faith of the son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.  Galatians 2:20.

This is a positive confession about his new status.  You must also proclaim it at every given opportunity.  I am born again! I am new! I cannot do these things I used to do as before”. I cannot keep the old company!  Another thing you must do is try to live like new.  Separate yourself deliberately from what made up your old man. Do away with old habits, relationships and environmental forces that can lure you back. If you separate yourself totally, you will gradually begin to see the reality of your newness in Christ.

Finally prayer and fellowship are also key.  Prayer keeps you in constant communication with fellow believers.  Fellowship brings you in communion with fellow believers.  All these put together made you to grow as a believer.  If you do these, welcome to a happy, prosperous and constantly growing new you. This New Year, be a new person. Let your thinking, your deeds and your speech reflect God. Let the “Old Man” die and be buried with the outgoing year. Let 2026 be a year of a NEW YOU.

PRAYER: LORD, I receive grace to grow constantly and not to remain on the same spot spiritually.
