PREPARE FOR YOUR NEXT LEVEL
Daniel 1: 3-5
The ancient world believed so much in preparation. No wonder they were wiser and able to accomplish much, many of which we are trying to unravel today. The Babylonian king needed young men with potentials to serve in the king’s court in various capacities. In spite of the potentials of the young men selected, they still needed to be schooled in Chaldean ways and wisdom before they could be presentable in the Palace. This was to last three years!
The job to be done determines the level of preparation required. The aspiring medical doctor knows that he would spend more years in the university than another student studying other courses. Your preparation determines where you will get to in life and destiny. What are your aspirations? What do you intend to be? What are your targets?
You must know that you don’t just arrive at your destination before you start preparing for it. Life is governed by present principles and laws. The Law of preparation prescribes that you do what you need to do on time and ahead so that you can get the desired result. As we enter the New Year, we have been informed that God is our helper. One of the things God will help us with is in our preparation. A higher level is ahead for you. But you must prepare. What level of mental preparation do you require? Do you need to go back to school? Do you intend to start a new business? Feasibility study may be required. Don’t just step out without giving it what is required to succeed.
Even your daily tasks require preparation. Don’t just approach tasks haphazardly. Be dutiful and meticulous. Improve on your competence. Let everything that passes through your hand bear a mark of excellence. Give in your best at the preparation stage. After all, the scripture says the house is prepared for the day of battle, but safety is of the Lord. It must be noted that the house was first prepared before God gave the safety!
Like we read a few days ago in the Boy Scouts motto, you must “think it out” and “practice it” ahead. That is why the bible enjoins you that whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might. This is talking about preparation as well as execution.
