REMEMBER YOU ARE ON ASSIGNMENT
Philippians 3:8-14
Being born again goes beyond repenting of your sins, forsaking and joining a living church. It is a call to service. When you become a child of God, you are saved to serve. There is a purpose for being saved. There is an assignment you must accomplish for the Lord.
Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. Verses 12-14
There is a purpose for your being. There is also a purpose for your salvation. There is a purpose for your membership in that local assembly. Part of knowing God is to know and “take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of you”. Knowing this will enable you serve God as you should. You would be doing what he called you to do. You won’t be idle in church. You won’t waste your time labouring in another man’s assignment either. Your service will attract reward because it is in your place of assignment that your reward would come.
Precious child of God, don’t live your life as if there is no purpose. Live purposefully. Live intentionally. Make impact where you are. Let every day count. Make a mark where you are this year. God bless you.
