TAKE RESPONSIBILITY
Genesis 3:8-13 Ezekiel 18:1-20
It takes a matured person who has overcome the fear of accepting responsibility to accept the blame for their actions. Right from the Garden of Eden, man had always been passing the bulk. When God asked Adam why he disobeyed His instruction, instead of him admitting guilt, Adam said it was the woman God gave him that was responsible for his action.
God, desirous of giving all of them the benefit of fair hearing asked Eve and she also blamed the serpent. It is always easy to blame other people for our actions. When you blame people for the outcome of your actions, it means you do not accept responsibilities for your life.
If you ask an adulterous woman, she would tell you that she does that because she does not have a supportive husband. A drunk who keeps late night will say it is because his wife does not give him peace in the house and he would rather go home late to avoid her.
All the ability to respond to situations in your life has been given to you. Besides God, you are the only one responsible for the outcome of your life. Even when we shift the blame, deep inside us we know the truth, which eventually will prevail. You are the one that has the ability to move forward or remain stagnant in life. The decision is yours.
The only thing people around you can do is to show you directions. No one can walk the walk for you. Even God will not force you to the place He wants you to be. The decision is all yours. The responsibility lies with you. Until you start taking responsibility for your life, you may never reach your goal. Stop blaming other people and circumstances for the outcome of your life. If you keep doing that, you may never become a better person. Accept that you fell, rise up and move on to reach the mark that the prize of your calling may be yours.
MEMORY VERSE:1 John 1:9
Prayer: Lord, give me the grace to be responsible for the outcome of my actions.
