THAT IT MAY BE WELL WITH YOU

3John 1:1-5

Apart from your relationship with the Lord, one other thing you must attach great priority to is your body.  Your body is your greatest asset on planet earth.  No matter your vision, spiritual dedication or plans and programmes, nothing can be achieved outside your body.  You need your body to run your errands here on earth.  Remember that you are a spirit being living on planet earth.  Your spirit cannot exist and function without your body.  Can you imagine a vehicle’s engine operating without the body?

This said and given, by now you know the importance of your body and the need to attach great importance to its well-being.  That is why Apostle John prayed: Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. 3 John 1:3

Apostle John understands the relationship between the body and the soul.  No matter how sound the soul is, if the body is incapacitated, the spirit becomes handicapped.  Imagine an athlete whose goal is to get a gold medal on a hundred-meter dash.  Such a person will not surrender his body to unwholesome habits and food that will make his body incapable of supporting his dream.  He cannot afford to be out of shape.  He needs to be physically strong to pursue his dreams.

Your wellness is ultimately your responsibility.  The food and the drinks you take; the habits you keep, all function together to contribute to your wellness or attack your wellness.  There are things you should not put into your mouth whether food or drink.  For instance, except it is medically recommended for you, why would you take alcohol?  See what the bible says about strong drink.

It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink: Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted. Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts. Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more; Proverbs 31: 4-7

You are a king (queen) and a priest(ess).  This is what is called Royal Priesthood. Strong drink is not for you.  The same goes for some food items.  You can train yourself for culinary discipline.  Make great core values, follow them, they will make you great.  Beside this, watch over your health.  Get regular health checks.  Do a little bit of exercise and make yourself happy.
