THE ANTIDOTE OF FEAR IS LOVE
2 Timothy 1:7; Psalm 34:4
Isaiah 42: 4 makes it clear that we are not programmed for failure; this verse of scripture asserts that, ‘He shall not fail nor be discouraged….’ God has given us all that pertains to life and godliness and power to do all things in His will, but what holds us back and keeps us bound is fear. Fear is an evil master that keeps its slaves from giving full expression to the enormous power of God in their lives. The fear of failure is the reason so many God-inspired books have not been written; it is the reason some powerful ministries that would shake the kingdom of darkness have not started; it is the reason some territories have not been conquered for Jesus. Many sick people are waiting for you to defeat your fears and respond to God by laying hands and praying for them so that they can be healed. Many workplaces are being subdued under the power of darkness because the believers in such places are too afraid to speak out. Many communities still wallow in darkness because many are afraid to launch out and pull them from the powers that keep such communities bound.
Dear believer, there is no reason to fear when you are acting in love. 1 John 4:8, says that “love never brings fear, for fear is related to punishment. But love’s perfection drives the fear of punishment far our hearts. Whoever walks constantly afraid of punishment has not reached love’s perfection.” We crush our fears by when we base our actions on love. When your actions are motivated by the love and fear of God, then there is no reason to fear. Love expels fear.
Do not be afraid to do anything God tells you to do. He that sent you is mighty and He is the One working through you for His good pleasure, Philippians 2:13. The Lord Himself is the light through which we see life and so we do not fear darkness as it has no place in God, Psalm 27:1. God surrounds His chosen ones like a mighty warrior and defends them from every evil.
Today, instead of fear, choose love. Choose to respond to every prompting of God’s love in your heart. PRAYER: LORD, make me ever conscious of your love.
