THE CHOSEN
For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works but of Him that calleth. Romans9:11
Choice comes to play only when options are available. To be chosen is to be preferred after a sampling of different opinions. The issue divine election is a mysterious one, because no human mind can comprehend the parameters with which God makes His choice. God’s choice is not necessarily based on what the individual has done or did not do. Divine choice is not based on merit or credibility. It is an issue of mercy and grace. God does not make His choice because you come from a good family. If it were for good educational background, Smith Wigglesworth wouldn’t have been so mightily used by God.
You are the person God chose for that particular assignment. And that’s where your greatness lies. He saw others, but decided it was you He wanted. You’ve been chosen because of preference. When God chose Israel, He made it clear to them that they weren’t the largest or the best, in fact, they were the smallest. This tells us that God does not make His choice based on human considerations. All that matters is that He chose you. He has called you for the assignment despite the fact that He knows your frame, and remembers you are dust. We should think of the fact that it is the Almighty that calls an individual into greatness. It is exciting because we know what human beings can do. It is worth the while to note that God did not delegate this power to any human man, if He did, some of us won’t have any place in life. You may not look like it today, but know that you have been chosen. Faithful is He who has called, who also will do it.
PRAYER: Thank you father for making me a chosen vessel. Thank you for looking past my human limitation, I love you Lord.
