THE LAMB OF GOD
John 1:29-33
“Saying with a loud noise worthy is the lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches and wisdom and strength and honour and glory and blessing” (Rev. 5:12).
The bible says all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Rom. 3:23. The joy you have as a Christian emanates from the death of Jesus Christ who was slaughtered as a lamb for your sin. Rom 3:23 did not exempt anybody from that sinful act (ALL).
“But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities, the Chastisement of our peace was upon him, and with his stripes, we are healed”.
For his death for you to be meaningful, these are some of the ways to reciprocate his love for you.
- Love him more than any other thing. Be passionate about this, you need not be told to love the person that delivered you from everlasting death.
- Obey his commandments – John 14:21. Whatever he commands, please obey so that you can find joy in Him.
- Abide in Him – John 15:4 – Abide in him so that he also can abide in you, it is not possible to bear fruit outside of him.
- Be committed – God says he is a rewarder of those that diligently seek him. Be steadfast in your service to him – 1 Corint. 15:58.
- Encourage others to serve him – The greatest assignment he gave to us is to preach the gospel to others. Let us not slack in doing this. There is joy in heaven over a sinner that repents.
It is a covenant you have with him when you gave your life to him. As long as you remain under the umbrella of this covenant, you enjoy his continuous blessings.
