THE LAW OF EVALUATION
2 Corinthians 10:1-5
Are you happy with your life? It is a question that everyone should ask themselves regularly. Of course it is not always easy to answer, but it is worth evaluating your life from time to time and see where you could make some changes. Assessing your life helps to ensure that you are heading in the right direction. If you are not happy with where you are, now is the time to make a change.
Evaluating your life is a process that can help you check whether you are living your best or can still do something to improve it. One reason you may want to re-evaluate your life is to check whether you are living it according to how you want it. It’s easy to get swayed by people’s recommendations and suggestions and follow along with what everybody else is doing. Nothing is wrong with this, but you still need to consider whether you are happy with what you are doing or maybe you need to change something in your life.
Life is supposed to be progressive .To be able to determine progress, there must be a form of measurement. From time to time there must be some sort of evaluation mechanism put in place to measure how close you are to your life’s goal or how far. The absence of growth suggest the presence of death.
To know where you are headed you need to know where you are per time. In voyaging, your current location is the reference point to either your past or future points. Evaluation gives you the ability to determine whether your various efforts have been productive or laid to waste. It tells you whether you’re in the right direction or maybe you should make a U-Turn.
Anything that is not growing is either lifeless, dead or dying. Growth cannot be hidden, when there is growth, it is visible and measurable. You are required to be able to measure your growth against your goal. Constant evaluation is one tool that is very effective against stagnation or complacency. You should make deliberate effort to make sure you are moving towards your life goal or else you would be making just motion without any movement.
MEDITATION: Is this the best I can be? Is this the best I can do?
