THE LAW OF KNOWLEDGE

Proverbs 14:1-7

There is a saying that you can’t be wiser than what you don’t know.  It has been said that wisdom is the correct application of knowledge.  It therefore goes that your level of wisdom is contingent on your deposit of knowledge.   You can’t apply what you do not know.  In your daily life, industry and relationship, knowledge comes to be. You know if you know.  You don’t know if you don’t know.  What you don’t know is superior to you. As of that moment and regarding that thing, you are ignorant.  Ignorance is a major disease.  It not only kills, it affects relationships. Verse seven of today’s text says “go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceive not in him the lips of knowledge”.  Proverbs 14:7

            Knowledge refers to facts, information and skills acquired through experience or education; awareness or familiarity gained by experience of a fact or situation.  Knowledge is in levels.  For instance, you may claim to know the president of your country.  But do you really know him? At best, your knowledge may be linked to what you read or hear of him from the media or books. This cannot be compared to the knowledge by his wife, children and closest staff.  In essence, you don’t have to base your knowledge of what you should know just at the periphery.  A Yoruba adage says if you want to be blind, make it complete blindness as anything less will always engender fights.  So you must seek adequate knowledge in whatever you are or want to be involved in.

Knowledge is an enabler, Knowledge is power, what you know will save you, what you know will get you what you want. I can’t emphasize enough the competitiveness of the world. One of the things that will give you a sure edge is knowledge. You have to strive to know things outside your immediate sphere of influence. You need to have a sound knowledge about the world, you can’t afford to be a local champion, someone somewhere in the world is making the impact you’re hoping to make. You must know how they are doing it or how you can export your skills to their side of the world. In knowledge there’s opportunity, there are multitudes of opportunities wrapped in knowledge. Learn about great people and the opportunities they took.

                        There is gold, and a multitude of rubies: but the lips of knowledge

 are a precious jewel. Proverbs. 20:15

The scripture above tells us that knowledge is superior to riches.  When a man without knowledge sees riches, he can’t manage it and will soon lose it.  But knowledge would teach him what to do and how.  Have a sound knowledge about your immediate surroundings: about its financial system, its security workings and networks. Have a deep knowledge about government working and policies, there are opportunities lying in wait in it for you.

Seek vast knowledge about the human body especially yours. Know about nutrition, diets, health and the supernatural. Spend time to know who you truly are, find out why you act and behave the way you do and how you can improve and be better. The most important resources God placed on earth is human resources, make it a duty to know more about people

Through wisdom is an house built; and by understanding it is established;
And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled withal precious and pleasant riches.

Proverbs 24:3-4

Without knowledge, one will look like a blind man groping in the dark. When you acquire knowledge, light dawns on your path.  Be knowledgeable and let the Holy Spirit teach you the application.

REFLECTION:  There is no wisdom without knowledge.
