THE LAW OF PRIORITY

Luke 10:40-42

Priority connotes urgency, precedence, importance and significance attached to a thing/matter. Knowledge has always been the bedrock of determining priority to handling matters and decision making in all events of life.  The more you know, the better the result you are likely to have. Living by the five senses are good but not the best. A combination of the so called common sense and God’s /Holy Ghost’s sense will make you a success in the events of life.

Ideologies and philosophies of life are good. Education is key to living. However, wrong applications of ideologies not in tandem with God’s will and purpose for life can derail one into error and mediocrity. A lot of people have lost properties and golden opportunities because they relied solely on professionalism than Holy Ghost’s guidance. There is a place of your sense and there is a place of God’s sense. A combination of Holy Ghost sense and common sense is the ideal for a believer.

Don’t become a professional fool who doesn’t believe in miracles just because it doesn’t appeal to senses. Don’t rely on experience where encounter with the Holy Ghost is at work. The scripture above tells us how Mary chose to sit at Jesus’ feet than serve tables… Serving tables is good and perfect however, priority would determine results. Peter the fisherman could have decided not to cast his net to the right side when Jesus instructed him to do so after toiling the whole night. Of course, his professionalism would have taken him home with empty stomach and no results to show to people he left back at home. Jesus did the combo for him. He asked him to cast the net [Professionalism is required to do this] then, prophetic declaration turned the table around for an output he never believed he could have.

The priority however for Peter to achieve that was to let go of his boat for Jesus’ use. In summary, always remember that, you cannot be wiser than God. Be guided! Misplaced priorities will often set you up for little or no result.

REFLECTION: What you give priority to will determine where you get to in life.
