THE LAW OF SECURITY
Psalm 91:1-16
Security can be defined as the state of being free from threats or danger. From creation till now, Man had always been conscious of security. We saw this at the Garden of Eden. It is sometimes borne out of the fear of unknown. But the bible says “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty”. Psalm 91:1. Adam dwelt in the garden [Secret place of the most High] so, he had no fear until he ate the forbidden fruit. He spiritually switched from being covered with the glory of God to sowing of fig leaves to cover his nakedness.
Our greatest security is that of the glory of God. Yes, we need to be wise and also put in place security [Spirit, Soul and Body]. Some believer’s ideology have been eroded with vain philosophies of men through the social media. That, some things are the best practice among men does not make it a law for us to emulate as children of God. They can cheat and make it the order of the day and call it smartness. We cannot!
What keeps you is better / superior to what you keep. This is because if you are not kept, your treasures and treasury would be unguarded. Treasures in the bank, police security, insurances and other forms of security appliances installed against theft and burglar’s access to our properties are good ways of ensuring security covers. However, how many are able to achieve God’s demands and plan for their lives? The physical security seems to be rated higher than spiritual security in some palaces…but a believer that knows his onions would never trade the place of spirituality for a penny!
The bible emphasizes that, sufficient for day is the evil thereof hence, there is enough evil that can go round all creatures but only God’s mercy [Security] can avert such. This is what brings us to being grateful for each day God spares our lives to be part of the living.
In Summary, Security is vital to living. Don’t trade it for anything. Not to be secured is to be vulnerable. The enemy will only sow tares in the farm/field when he knows men are asleep. It’s time to wake up to live and challenge all tricks of the devil.
REFLECTION: The Lord of Hosts is with me; the God of Jacob is my helper.
