WEEP NOT
Luke 7:11-15
The unpredictable circumstances that come across the way of men make them weep sometimes. Weeping generally is a reflection of a sad heart. It was a hopeless case for the woman of Nain whose only child died, and was on the way to the burial ground when they met Jesus. Jesus told her not to weep. Are you feeling lonely with no one to cheer you up? Weep not. Are you betrayed by friends? Weep not. Is your ill health going beyond the reach of medical sciences, especially with negative reports from medical personnel? Weep not. Are you denied your right or promotion? Weep not. Is your debt burden too heavy to pay? Weep not. Are enemies mocking you, asking where your God is? Weep not. Are recurrent family problems pushing you to the wall? Weep not.
Jesus knows the feelings in our inner recesses and the challenges we often pass through. God is not blind. He knows what we do not know, and sees what we do not see. There is a Comforter, named the Holy Spirit, whose presence in the believer takes control of the inner spiritual climate, and minds of Christians whenever they meet with perplexing challenges beyond what their natural frailties can cope with. Jesus promised His disciples and all true believers that the Holy Ghost, who is the third Person in Trinity will abide always with them to specially comfort them during moments of distress.
“. . . weeping may endure the night, but joy comes in the morning.” Psalm 30:5. There is a joyous moment ahead of you. Don’t give up. Whatever situation you may be going through, someone, somewhere has passed through the same experience before, and sailed through successfully. There shall be a turnaround and you shall rejoice. Hallelujah!
MEDITATION: Psalm 30:5. For His anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
