The word value has many definitions.   It can be a noun as well as a verb.  As a noun, it is the regard that something is held to deserve. It is the importance, worth or usefulness of something.  For instance, one may say, “the N10,000 you sent yesterday was worth more than its actual value”.  Or your presence was of great value in settling the matter.  It also refers to principles or standards of behaviour or one’s judgment of what is important in life.  For the sake of this write-up, we will stick to the latter definition.  But let me also say that as a verb, it means the monetary worth of something.  When you call an estate man to value your house, what you are asking is the monetary worth of the house. It also means the worth you attach to someone or something.  For instance “I value the wristwatch you sent to me more than any other jewel in the house.   1 Peter 1:18-19

The first thing we would want you to look at is that you must attach value to the things of God.  Your being born again is of great value.  It cost God and Jesus Christ more than gold or silver.  It cost the most precious blood in the universe – the blood of Jesus!  Never take your new birth for granted.  It is the greatest value you can ever have.   Seek the LORD daily.  Do his will.  Live a life that will show you value the sacrifice of Christ on Calvary.  Work on your relationship with your father.  Seek and do his will at all times.  Don’t put the name of Jesus into disrepute.  Live above board.

Personally, you must make yourself a creature of value.  There are societal values which unfortunately had gone down these days.  This notwithstanding, you must create your personal values that will eventually determine the course of your life.  You can dictate to yourself that come what may, there are some things you will never do or say no matter the circumstances.  Where you will go and where you end up in life largely depends on your values.  Your values will have impact on your relationships, time, money and other things.  Going forward, you can make and nurture the values of integrity, honesty, diligence and such like.  If you live with these, give it time, you will watch your life take a turn to greater glory.
