WILLINGNESS AND OBEDIENCE
Matthew 22:28-31
Passion is the key to great achievement in life. Becoming the best in an endeavor becomes easy when we pursue with enthusiasm, a task done under compulsion will soon weary its participant.
God has not just called us to serve Him but He desires that we serve Him whole heartedly. It is not sufficient to just give to God, we must do it cheerfully and not under compulsion. You must understand that anyone who motivates you to give to God is doing a favour and not a disfavour.
The scripture says God is willing and able to do above what we ask or imagine according to his good pleasure; when we serve God with gladness, then our land shall yield its increase. Obedience to God’s way must be done passionately and joyfully.
Two sons were consulted for a task, one showed initial willingness but eventually did not go, the other out- rightly refused but later repented, had a change of heart and went. The Lord said it is the latter that should be commended. Serving God should be wholeheartedly. It must not have any misgiving like murmuring and complaints. Obedience must be 100% and nothing less. No conditions must be attached other than service to the Almighty, your Creator and Owner of your soul. The attendant benefits of Service to God should not be the primary purpose in Serving. If we have been serving God with complaint, bitterness and murmuring, it’s time to repent and willingly serve and obey him.
MEMORY VERSE: If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: Isaiah 1:19.
PRAYER: Lord, I shall serve and obey you willingly and my land shall yield bumper harvest.
