YOUR RESPONSE TO GOD’S LOVE
Romans 5:8
God’s unconditional love for mankind is a mystery that the natural mind cannot comprehend. Or what would you say to the scripture that says, “God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us”. Laying down your life for someone that is not doing right! Who does that? The truth is that God loves you the same way he loves Jesus.

Despite your flaws, mistakes, and shortcomings, God’s love is genuine and real. God loves you unconditionally. While we were still sinners, when we were at our worst, God demonstrated his love to the human race. He accepted us as we are. His love does not come with condemnation. It is pure and undiluted with no strings attached because it is never based on our performance or achievement. It comes in the same measure for everyone. It is never selective as it does not identify the poor or the rich; the privileged or downtrodden. God’s love is for all mankind in equal measure. The death of Jesus Christ, by which God perfected his love to us reveals the extent God would go for us.

What is expected of you is to embrace and accept this profound love by loving God with all your hearts, surrendering our lives to Him, serving him as he desires. John 15:9 & 10 instructs: “As the Father loves me, so I also love you. Remain in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and remain in his love”. Spend time to reflect and meditate on God’s love for you; how he loved you when you were still a sinner; when you had nothing; when you were still an enemy to Him. You didn’t even know Him, yet He loved you to the point of sending His Son to die for you.

One of the ways to live within His love is to be a doer of His Word. As highlighted above, you remain in His love when you do his commandments. Practice how to live by His Word and that lifestyle will keep you in His love all the time.
